Quick note: the week I wrote this I have recorded two podcasts this week and have another pre-interview today.

You can pay a Public Relations Agency thousands of dollars to maybe get a placement on a podcast or some press.
OR
You can do the work (or hire a virtual assistant to do it for you).
Here is the system I've built:
Refine a really good short bio and save it in my notes
I spend 5 minutes seeing what I can apply for
I copy the bio from notes and apply
It is like any sales funnel(think job application), you apply for a lot and get a few. But if you're cash strapped this is a great solution.
Benefits of being a podcast guest
Low risk way to help test out your messaging on a stranger
Great way to get more comfortable being on camera
You might meet some of your biggest supporters (I have!)
Great way to get backlinks (links from other websites to yours, helps your SEO)
Get your message out to someone's audience
Places I apply to be a podcast guest
Daily emails looking for guests (scroll to the bottom)
Facebook groups
It's best to respond to as many posts of people looking for guests
DO NOT pay to be a guest, it's the internet after all. People are special.
Keep in mind podcasts are often recorded months after you apply and posted months after they are recorded so this is a long game.
